Today, at the Cisco Collaboration Summit, Cisco shared information about the newest version of WebEx planned for spring 2012. It is just one of many announcements from Cisco aimed at transforming how we work to further embrace video and mobile to deliver an optimal environment for collaboration.
WebEx redefines the meeting lifecycle.
Customers could always easily share data during a meeting but now it will include tools that help before and after. With Meeting Spaces, individuals can share relevant documents prior to a meeting, access recordings of past meetings, and initiate conversations in the space; and see whether their colleagues are available, and if so, utilize UC tools such as IM, voice and video to quickly collaborate within the same meeting environment.
WebEx elevates the video and mobile experience.
High definition (HD) video is now on WebEx. It will also provide a pervasive meeting experience with two-way video even when on the go. WebEx will offer two-way 720p true HD virtual video meetings on mobile devices. Voice over IP is now also available on the iPhone and iPad. WebEx mobile meetings are available on more mobile devices than any other enterprise meeting platform in the market today.
WebEx extends cloud conferencing.
Cisco’s new WebEx offering is delivered via the Cisco Collaboration Cloud, a high-performance carrier-class network designed specifically for large-scale web collaboration. The Cisco Collaboration Cloud provides businesses with a scalable architecture that adjusts to meet business growth and other requirements and is capable of supporting thousands of concurrent users 24 hours a day.
WebEx offers new levels of integration for enterprise users.
Cisco WebEx and Cisco’s overall collaboration portfolio, including Cisco TelePresence and several Cisco Unified Communications products, are now integrated to extend the power of online meetings while helping customers maximize existing investments.
We invite you to learn more about the new WebEx and pre-register for the beta. You can also watch the announcements via Cisco's Virtual Launch Experience.
